Homicide detectives are trying to learn the identity of a woman whose body was found in a front yard in broad daylight Monday afternoon on Detroit’s east side.

The unidentified woman, who police believe to be in her mid 20s to early 30s, was found laying unresponsive on the front yard of a home on the 3000 block of Lakeview about 12:30 p.m. Monday. That block of Lakeview is south of Mack and west of Chalmers.

Police do not believe the woman was shot, but believe her death was a homicide because there were “signs of a struggle,” said Kenyetta Hebron, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.

The home she was found in front of was vacant, Hebron said.
