Auburn Hills police locate missing elderly man

Auburn Hills — Police say a 72-year-old man with dementia who is in need of his medication was missing, but has been found.

Gilbert David Mattson of Auburn Hills was last seen at 2 p.m. Thursday and was thought to be possibly headed to northern Michigan or the Upper Peninsula, police said.

Mattson was last seen wearing a black Vietnam Veteran hat, blue jeans with suspenders, white tennis shoes and a green Carhartt jacket with the words “Wood Wacker Yooper” on the left side. He was driving a gold 2014 Subaru Outback.
