Keegan-Michael Key to Co-Grand Marshal Parade

Actor and Detroit native Keegan-Michael Key will join Judge Damon Keith as Co-Grand Marshals of the 90th America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Key, co-creator of the Peabody and Emmy Award-winning comedy show “Key & Peel,” is starring in the upcoming Fox rom-com film “Why Him?” with James Franco and Bryan Cranston.

The parade, which steps off at 8:50 a.m. Nov. 24 at Kirby and Woodward and travels toward Campus Martius.

Other celebrities scheduled to be part of the procession include Olympians Allison Schmitt, Aly Raisman and April Ross, musicians Mike Posner and Martha Reeves and cast members from the Tony-nominated musical “Motown the Musical.” The parade will also features members of the Yankee Air Museum Rosie the Riveter Tribute Corps, including two original riveters, Iva Davie and Laura Eglinsdoerfer.

Santa Claus, of course, will also make a high-profile appearance.

This year’s parade theme is “90 Years Together.” Produced by the non-profit, Detroit-based Parade Company, the procession will air on television in more than 160 major cities. See it locally on WDIV-TV Local 4 at 10 a.m. or hear it on 760 WJR.
