Chicago – A memorial to celebrate the life of former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Spartan Stadium.

More details are still to come, but the service is open to the public. The announcement was made on Twitter by Sadler’s sister, Katie.

Sadler, 24, was killed in car accident in Wisconsin on Saturday along with Nebraska punter Sam Foltz. There was an outpouring of support for both programs at Big Ten media days this week as Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio was joined by players Riley Bullough, Josiah Price and R.J. Shelton.

Dantonio on Sadler: ‘We’ll miss him terribly’

All three were teammates of Sadler’s and Bullough said he was a junior in high school the first time he met Sadler. It was the freshman year at Michigan State for Bullough’s brother, Max, and he was good friends with Sadler.

“His passing was tough and still is,” Bullough said. “We’ll move past it but never forget about him. He was a great guy and left lasting memories with people that will stick with them forever.”
