Jack White’s label plans to play vinyl in space
To celebrate its seventh anniversary, Jack White’s Third Man Records has announced details of plans to be the first to play a photographic record in outer space on Saturday. The record is a gold-plated, 12-inch master of Carl Sagan’s “A Glorious Dawn,” which is the label’s 3 millionth record pressed. According to a press release, the album, which features Sagan’s voice from his “Cosmos” series, will be sent into space in the Icarus Craft, a space-proof turntable attached to a high-altitude balloon. The craft is a collaboration between Third Man’s Kevin Carrico and educational nonprofit SATINS (Students and Teachers in Near Space). Launch parties will be held at the Detroit and Nashville Third Man Record stores at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the launch at noon. Copies of “A Glorious Dawn” will be for sale, along with live bands and other exclusive merchandise.
Family drama for former ‘Cosby’ star
Former NFL player Ed Hartwell has filed from divorce from Keshia Knight Pulliam, just six months after their nuptials, People reports. Just last week Pulliam, known for her role as the youngest child on “The Cosby Show,” announced on Instagram that she’s pregnant with a girl. Hartwell is seeking a paternity test. TMZ reports that Pulliam is contesting the divorce documents. The pair dated for four months before getting married in January.
Psychic reader Miss Cleo dies after battle with colon cancer
You may remember the star of the Psychic Readers Network commercials “Miss Cleo,” who briefly became a pop-culture phenomenon in the 1990s with her catchphrase “call me now!” TMZ reports the actress, real name Youree Harris, died Tuesday in Palm Beach County, Florida. The California native was battling colon cancer.
Beyoncé leads VMA awards
The nominees for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards were revealed Tuesday on a huge street mural in New York City. Beyoncé leads the list with 11 nominations for videos from her album “Lemonade.” Adele’s “Hello” video earned her seven nominations. The women are up against each other for Video of the Year, along with Drake, Justin Bieber and Kanye West. Southfield native Mike Posner is up for Best Electronic Video for his song “I Took a Pill in Ibiza.” The VMAs air live from Madison Square Garden on Aug. 28.

■Willie Nelson, Neil Young and Sheryl Crow will headline a new music festival. The Outlaw Music Festival is Sept. 18 at the Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Tickets are on sale Friday via Ticketmaster.
■Former “Celebrity Apprentice” star Omarosa Manigault is engaged to Pastor John Allen Newman, TMZ reports. Manigault was previously engaged to actor Michael Clarke Duncan before his death in 2012. She was recently named the Director of African-American Outreach for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
■A feature-length documentary on INXS frontman Michael Hutchence will be produced by Passion Pictures (“Searching for Sugarman”). Hutchence committed suicide in 1997.
