The Detroit News

A 42-year-old Pontiac woman was arrested after burning some of her husband’s belongings and starting a fire that spread to the family’s home, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were called to the 500 block of N. Saginaw Street at 12:27 p.m. Sunday on a burning complaint and found the woman burning her spouse’s possessions.

After the deputies arrived, the woman poured fuel onto the flames, causing them to spread to the home, investigators said. Waterford firefighters extinguished the flames and deputies took the woman to the Oakland County Jail.
