Man arraigned in death of woman found in trash bin

A Detroit man was charged Saturday with murder in the death of 24-year-old woman who had been reported missing before her body was found in a trash container on the city’s west side in December.

Maxwell Brack, 24, was charged by Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy with open murder in the killing of Kajavia Globe. Brack, who was arrested by Detroit Police on Friday, was arraigned on Saturday. His probable cause hearing is scheudled for Feb 12 and his preliminary examine is set for Feb. 19.

Globe's body was found Dec. 14 near Fielding and Clarita three days after she disappeared. She was last seen leaving work around noon on Dec. 11 in the area of McNichols and Southfield Service Drive, according to police.

She was driving her sister's gold 2003 Chevrolet Impala and police recovered the vehicle near Chatham and Fenkell. They said there was evidence of foul play.

Police discovered a masked person took money from Globe's bank account at a west side ATM hours after she disappeared.
