The Detroit News

CBSSports.com has Michigan State as a No. 2 seed in its latest bracketology released on Monday, and ESPN.com has the Spartans as a No. 3 seed. Both have Michigan as a No. 9 seed.

ESPN.com’s Joe Lunardi has the Spartans facing Akron in the South regional in St. Louis. A victory would pit them against the Duke-California winner. Jerry Palm of CBSSports.com also put the Spartans in St. Louis but in the Midwest Regional, where they would face Stephen F. Austin and await the winner between Notre Dame and Florida.

As for Michigan, Lunardi has the Wolverines in the West Regional and traveling to Raleigh, N.C., where they would face St. Mary’s. A win would likely put Michigan against top seed North Carolina. Palm also has Michigan in the West and pits the Wolverines against Seton Hall in Des Moines, Iowa. Kansas would be the likely opponent in case of a victory.

ESPN’s women’s bracketology has Michigan State as a No. 4 seed. The Spartans would host Army in the first round and meet the winner between Florida and James Madison at Breslin Center.
