Report: Rasheed Wallace drives bottled water to Flint

Add former Detroit Pistons player Rasheed Wallace to those who've rallied to help people in Flint dealing with the contaminated water crisis.

Except in Wallace's case, he stepped up by stepping on the gas. He drove a truck filled with cases of bottled water from North Carolina to Flint Thursday night, according to Sports Illustrated.

Wallace's efforts follow others in the basketball community, most notably Pistons owner Tom Gores who spearheaded a private-sector campaign to raise $10 million for his native city. Pistons executives and players have pledged an additional $500,000 to the FlintNOW campaign.

Wallace played 16 seasons in the NBA, including six with the Pistons (2004-08). He returned as an assistant coach in 2013-14.
