Michael Moore tweets he has pneumonia

Michael Moore, the outspoken filmmaker and former Flint resident, has ended up in the hospital, according to his Twitter page.

“Between bustin' it 4 my movie opening next wk, plus in &out of Flint, plus Election work, I find myself today in an ICU w/ pneumonia,” Moore tweeted on Thursday.

The Oscar-winning director’s latest production, “Where To Invade Next,” is scheduled for release Feb. 12.

It’s described online as “a provocative and hilarious comedy in which Moore will stop at nothing to figure out how to actually make America great again.”

Moore has been in the spotlight recently for his takes on the Flint water crisis.

Last month, he called for Gov. Rick Snyder to step down and circulated an online petition urging the arrest of the Republican leader.

Speaking in Flint on Jan. 16, Moore called on President Barack Obama to visit the beleaguered city when the president toured the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on Jan. 20. Obama did not make a stop in Flint during his auto show visit.

On Jan. 21,Obama allocated $80 million for Michigan to help with the Flint water crisis.
